Many people around the world think of the shiny and clean looking monuments of Washington DC when they think about the architectural characteristics of this city. But there is more to DC than just that white marble look which is abundantly used in national monuments and museums across town! Brick town houses, built one row after another, with circular turrets towering high up, heavy cast iron front door stairs and railings are just some of many different architectural details you may see in the city.
